To combat a lot of mis-information out there and to help new owners of Strataglass and Crystal Clear 20/20 learn the proper way of caring for their new windows, Stratglass has commissioned the above video.  Contrary to claims by many cleaners, Strataglass only recommends the IMAR Yacht Detailing Products, specifically the IMAR Strataglass Care products to care for and properly maintain their products.

Not to say the some of the other products will not work but IMAR is the ONLY approved and recommended treatment from the factory.  Use of anything else may result in voiding your factory warranty.

Someone To Do It Cream Cleaner

As a retailer of boat maintenance supplies, we receive a lot of requests to sample and carry new products.  Often times these samples sit on a shelf for a while before we get around to them.  Such is the case for Someone To Do It Cream Cleaner.

We were provided with a full size bottle (32 ounces) for testing and review....and sat on it.  I know now that this was a mistake.  One day while cleaning the shower at home, I got tired of the Tilex / cleanser routine to clean each week, Tilex one week then cleanser the next...repeat.  The fumes from the Tilex are killer on the lungs, especially in a closed bathroom setting, and you can only concentrate on the mildew or the soap scum because each takes its own cleaner and DO NOT mix these cleaners or it can kill you.  When looking at the shelf for an alternative, I saw the neglected bottle of Something To Do It (recently renamed to Someone To Do It Cream Cleaner), such a silly name, but what the heck, I gave it a try.  I cannot tell you how impressed I was with the results!  This was a gem. lost in the clutter of the cleaning cabinet.  This stuff cut straight through the soap residue and my grout has never been whiter.  Impressive but still not enough to invest in a no-name cleaner without a market, until....

A friend asked for my advice as my reputation for trying new and alternate ways of cleaning is well known in our circle.  She has glass shower doors and no matter what she uses, cleaning them is a major pain and they don't really come clean.  I reluctantly pulled out my little secret bottle and told her to give it a whirl but not to use it all up and I wanted it back.  At this point, I had no recollection of where the bottle came from or how to get more, I had to make my bottle last as long as possible.

Wouldn't you know it, the stuff worked for her too.  In fact, she had never found anything that worked so well and so easily.  This friend is a bit on the "Strong Personality" side and convinced me to search for the source of Something To Do It and get her some.  This is exactly what I did, our first case is due to arrive today.  Of course, Gayle gets the first two bottles as soon as I open it, this was a bit stronger that just a request.  I didn't even know what the stuff cost but she did not care.  Now that I do know the cost, I am amazed that it isn't more, but I am not going to tell the manufacturer that, Only $12/quart.  Knowing what other marine cleaners cost, this will soon become one of my affordable go-to's, I can't wait to try it around the kitchen.

Used Golf Clubs in Fort Lauderdale

One of my many projects is a website for Golf Trader, the best Golf store in south Florida. We're IN

Back in April, I said we were a couple of months away from moving into our new, larger facility. Those couple of months turned into EIGHT. Hurricanes have a way of eating up building materials, contractors and inspectors delaying our project much farther than anticipated. Now Scalise Marine, Internet Ship’s Store and Rorys Marine Canvas & Custom Yacht Upholstery are officially up and running in our Dania Beach location.

We have much more storage space available, have increased our working area and can better streamline our delivery process which adds up to BETTER CUSTOMER RESPONSE for you. The move will allow Scalise Marine to expand our product lines as we have been planning but didn’t have space for. We will be expanding our wholesale lines also so if you see an item on our pages that you cannot find local to you, have your favorite store contact us for availability (this does not pertain to West Marine, we have given up on getting our products on their shelves…too many hurdles and a total lack of communication).

Scalise Marine attended the ICAST and MAATS shows in Vegas back in July and found some exciting new products that we are excited about adding to our line-up. One of the simplest but most interesting is a line of miniature fishing rods from Tech Tackle. They are designed by a couple of model makers and exact in every detail, only much smaller than the original (under 18” in length). There are 6 versions currently available with 6 more slated for release in June along with a fishing chair, rocket launcher and teak rod holder. IMAR Yacht Detailing Products have teamed up with Stamoid Marine to develop a care kit for Stamoid Canvas. These products were released in time for the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show and include a Stamoid Marine Vinyl Cleaner, Stamoid Marine Vinyl Protective Cream and Stamoid Marine Vinyl Protective Spray. For convenience, they have also produced a bucket kit with a 2.5 gallon bucket and one of each of the Stamoid products all neatly packaged together. These and all other IMAR Products are in stock and available for immediate shipment.

Almost Ready to Move

Well, after 10 months of working/waiting, our new facility is about 30 days away from us beginning to move in. New builds are a pain in the tucus!! Building codes, permitting, contractors and sub-contractors...the list goes on. It is not for the feint-of-heart!

For those of you who have read our latest newsletter, you know that we will be moving soon. Scalise Marine and our sister company, Rorys Marine Canvas and Custom Yacht Upholstery will be moving to a much larger facility. As we have grown, we have expanded to three separate locations which makes everything a little more difficult logistically. The facility will be completed in another 2 - 3 months so we should be moving shortly thereafter. Sure, we can get any 3M product you need but we are not going out of our way to list the full 3M catalog on the site. Need IMAR Strataglass Cleaner? Sure, we have that! It cannot be found at just any store so we feature the line as one of our specialties. IMAR, Mer-maids, DCS, Fasnap and many other brands were pursued because our customers could not find them conveniently. If you need something, let us find it for you! Things have been extremely hectic here at Scalise Marine. Order rates are doubling monthly, which is a good thing (make that a GREAT thing)! Between filling orders, we have been picking up new product lines.

Scalise Marine has acquired distributorships for Swobbit Systems, Fasnap Fasteners, Paiho Hook & Loop, Plasti-Dip and is in the process of setting up Mer-maid Products. Before adding these products to the webpage, we personally test the products to ensure we are bringing good products to you, not just some fly-by-night or a product that doesn't live up to their claims.

The Mer-maid brand came highly recommended from our yacht captains on the west coast (California). From what I have tested thus far, the Inflatable Boat Cleaner and Serious Soap, these products have exceeded my expectations! Many companies have submitted vinyl cleaners and I tested them against Mer-maid's Inflatable Boat Cleaner on a weather-worn vinyl seat. The Mer-maid cleaner blew away the competition!! Now I have received their actual Vinyl Cleaner, I cannot wait to try it out but am assuming that I will be pleased with the results also. Watch for their full product line to be added shortly.

Fasnap fasteners are a direct competitor to Dot fasteners and we like what we have seen from them too. All this is in the works and much more.
